    Description

Antique Julene Mechler Hawaiian Ceramic Figuerine Hula Girl w/Lei RARE Signed
1950s Julene Mechler of Honolulu "Leilani" Figurine ~ signed w/original tag attached.
Julene Mechler, "Julene of Honolulu", was one of Hawaii's most beloved ceramicists. Each of her creations were cast and hand-painted by her. Her pieces are increasingly difficult to find and are highly collectible.
This piece is a beautiful, heavy quality ceramic, entirely hand painted. She has a most expressive, wonderfully-detailed face and dress. She stands leaning forward ready to greet a special someone with her flower lei.
The piece measures approx. 7.24" tall by 7" side to side by 7.5" deep in size.  There are a few "flea bites" on her flower crown and one of her fingers (see photos) - otherwise this is in pristine condition. There is some crazing, as expected with the age of this piece, however, I think that it adds to charm.
These figurines can range from a hundreds dollars to several thousand dollars depending on the quality and rarity. This piece is rarely seen, especially in this condition.  While I could find a similar one (for nearly 0), I could not find this specific one anywhere else.
The value of Mechler porcelain figurines has been rising over the years and is likely to continue to rise according to experts. This piece is highly collectible Hawaiiana, and would be a wonderful addition to your collection.
Condition is "Used". Shipped with USPS Priority Mail, with insurance. I ship M-F, within 3 days of payment (not including weekends or holidays).
