Vntg Illinois 1976 Bicentennial License Plate single JL 9310 / red, white & blue

Description

Offered for sale is a single 1776 / 1976 Illinois license plate celebrating 200 years for the USA.  The number JL 9310 is on the bicentennial red, white and blue designed plate.  Illinois staged a design competition for the 1976 plate and this is the winning design.  The plate features an arch of stars at the top and bottom center and the customary Land of Lincoln at the bottom with red stripes over the face of the plate.  The plate is in good used condition with wear as shown on the pictures.  The face of the plate has a mix of road wear, aging, minor scrapes, dings, and phosphorous that allowed the plate to reflect and has darkened / bled with age on the white in places, plus corner rust.
There is bolt rubbing wear from the bolts used to hold the plate to the car as shown.
The back of the plate has rust mostly on the lower section (as shown).  There is just enough wear on the license plate to show that it was actually on a car which helps lead to this being an excellent collectible.  This is a standard size car plate measuring approximately 12” x 6”.  The pictures show the actual plate you will receive. The specially designed plate has great color, lays flat, and is in collectible condition.  This would look great hanging in a garage, make a great birthday present for someone born in 76, or use for whatever purpose that can be imagined.
